The concert was AMAZING! Thank you all for coming! The kids were awesome and I could not be more proud of them! We spent the day cleaning, organizing and relaxing today. Concert nights take a lot out of them (and me). Plus, our schedule has been CRAZY and we needed some catch up time. Monday starts us off on schedule for the first time in awhile. We are starting a new writing unit. We will be focusing on fact/opinion and the solar system. It is going to be awesome! Also, we will be finishing up our place value unit in math this week with an assessment on Friday. The unit 10 assessment will be on Friday, too for Fundations. At the end of next week we WILL have a Valentine's day "party." It will be really low key and the kids will exchange Valentine's at 2:30 on Friday. I will send a note home about this early next week.
The week of February 16th, we will be learning all about Hawaii! My sister lived there for a few years and I like to spend some time learning about the state and all it has to offer. Tropical Island day for the entire school is that Monday, so I figured it would fit in perfectly!
