Jog-A-Thon and Assembly

This morning, we participated in the Jog-A-Thon! It was a lot of fun and I was impressed at how well the kids did. For our class, Madelyn got the most laps for the girls (17) and Mack got the most for the boys (20).
In the afternoon we had an assembly put on my Mrs. Brauer's reading class with assistance from the rest of the fourth graders.  We learned about habit 2 (Make a plan/Begin with the end in mind) from the Leader in Me.

Pinwheels for Peace

On Thursday, we did our annual Pinwheels for Peace.  Everyone made a pinwheel in class with Mrs. Gocken and then we planted it to promote peace on Thursday morning. We were the first class to plant!

Science

We have our FIRST science test on Wednesday! We spent our Friday afternoon working on the study guide.  I allowed them to use whatever they needed and encouraged them to use each other as much as possible.  I love how well this class works as a whole group.  They did not just rely on their partners or small groups, they used everyone to find answers.

Total Fail:)

We finally finished MAP testing and we were waiting on the other classes to get done, too.  So, we had a little extra time to have some fun.  I gave the kids a paper that was a directions test. They all FAILED! It was one of the funniest things I had ever seen!  Ask you student about it... it was so much fun.  I told them that I would test them again before the year was over.
Here they all are after their epic fail! :)
